Nicușor Dan believes that there is a possibility for PSD to vote for a Bolojan Government if he wins the presidential elections.
He hinted that he wouldn’t want the future prime minister to be a social democrat.
"I don't think that's the case, in the hypothesis that I become president. That's not the voters' intention," Nicușor Dan stated in an interview for News.ro, when asked if he is prepared to appoint a prime minister from PSD.

"In my opinion, as I interpret it, it is in the sense of a deep reform of the state, of how politics is conducted, and in the sense of a left-right difference, a work culture, responsibility towards public funds, and that's why I mentioned Ilie Bolojan, without being able to promise before becoming president and having all the discussions, that is my preference," added Nicușor Dan.
He emphasized that he is aware that he needs the votes of the Social Democratic Party for Bolojan to be appointed as prime minister.
"Certainly, yes, yes, yes. What I said is that the discussion will be with the four pro-Western parties and the national minorities. It will be a technical discussion on the mandate of this government, on the program of this government. I believe this possibility exists. I believe this possibility (that PSD will vote for a government led by Ilie Bolojan - editor's note)," specified Nicușor Dan.
Message to the Diaspora
When asked what he conveys to Romanians abroad, who voted in larger numbers for AUR leader George Simion, Nicușor Dan said that he urges them to inform themselves about the past of each of the two candidates and to vote informed and rationally.
"First of all, I thank them for coming out to vote in such large numbers, regardless of who they voted for, that means they are interested in what is happening in Romania. And then, for them, as well as for Romanians at home, I try to convey that they are the wise change, that I truly represent the change I have fought for for 20 years, and my request to them is to inform themselves about the past of each of the two candidates and to vote informed and rationally," said Nicușor Dan.
He underlined that he would like to have a larger presence in the diaspora in the second round of the presidential elections on May 18.
First Measure as President
Nicușor Dan also talked about the first measure he will take as president: "Identical to the one I took at the City Hall, I will call the financial officials to see where we stand. The Minister of Finance, the head of the tax authority."
"We had a new government that issued a train order and said that this way we would have a deficit target of 7%. And the results for the first three months show that we are heading towards 9%, as we did in 2024," Nicușor Dan said when asked how serious Romania's financial problem is at the moment.
