AUR and Șoșoacă have not reached a peace agreement

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) delegation was not received by Diana Șoșoacă at the meeting of sovereigntists, which is taking place at Casa Capșa.

AUR conveys that Diana Șoșoacă chose to undermine any effort to build a common platform and announces further discussions with sovereigntist forces on August 27 and 28.

"AUR responded in good faith to the invitation to discuss the unification of sovereigntist forces in the hope of a genuine dialogue. However, Diana Șoșoacă proved that it was all just a public relations exercise.

She did not want a dialogue, but rather sought to appeal to an important segment of our country's population, the sovereigntists, who cannot be represented by her.

By refusing to receive the AUR delegation at the discussions at Casa Capșa, by threatening to call the Police to remove a member of the Romanian Parliament and a Member of the European Parliament, she has shown us that personal pride and ambitions take precedence over the interests of Romanians," AUR representatives stated.

According to them, "at a time when Romanians need a sovereigntist political force to fight against the PSD and PNL, Diana Șoșoacă chose to undermine any effort to build a common platform."

"AUR will continue the dialogue with sovereigntist political forces, those parties that deserve to be heard and share the desire to build a sovereign Romania without being swayed by personal agendas.

In this regard, we invite all sovereigntist political formations that truly desire unity to discussions on August 27 and 28 at the Romanian Parliament, within a format agreed upon by all participants," the party further conveyed.

AUR also excludes "continuing any discussions with those present today at the farce called 'consultations in a tavern'."

AUR previously announced that it would participate in Monday's discussions at Casa Capșa, scheduled for 12:00.

The consultations were convened by Diana Șoșoacă, the leader of the SOS Romania party, with the aim of uniting nationalist forces.

Former Romanian President Traian Băsescu stated Sunday evening that if sovereigntist parties come with a third candidate in the presidential elections who is not Diana Șoșoacă, George Simion, or Cozmin Gușă, then PNL President Nicolae Ciucă has no chance of entering the second round.
