The British press continues to speculate on multiple scenarios regarding Romanian central defender Radu Drăgușin, still under contract at Tottenham.
The English now offer a verdict on the future of the Romanian at the British club, after much has been written about Spurs wanting to part ways with Drăgușin, who is still recovering from the ligament rupture suffered back in January.
British journalists also claim that Radu Drăgușin made a mistake when choosing Tottenham over Bayern Munich:
"The Romanian central defender was a bizarre acquisition, as he clearly did not fit Ange Postecoglou's style of play. His ball skills seem limited.
This was compounded by the discomfort of playing in an advanced defensive line. Dragusin is not the fastest defender and seems much more suited for a traditional defensive role. Overall, Drăgușin's decision to turn down Bayern Munich in favor of Tottenham seems to have been a disastrous move," noted the English at spurs-web.com.
However, the English are against selling Drăgușin to another club, such as AC Milan, who have expressed interest in signing the 23-year-old Romanian:
"They could assign him a role more suited to his style of play. Franck likes to attack, but not at all costs. He uses three central defenders and Drăgușin should have less pressure, with and without the ball. It seems that Spurs will no longer exclusively build from the defense.
He arrived at Spurs for just over £20 million, but due to poor performances and lack of playing time when Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were not injured, Tottenham would incur a loss.
It would be a bad deal, considering he is only 23 years old and has five more years on his contract. The most logical thing would be to give him another chance under Frank's leadership, to see if he can improve his game. If Drăgușin continues to underperform, he could be sold in January," the English further noted.
