A student from Romania has created an app for teenagers with problems who have no one to talk to. How All Good works

Alec Finta, a student at the Romanian-Finnish High School in Bucharest, has created an application called All Good, whose purpose is to support teenagers who have problems but no one to talk to.

Alec Finta came up with the idea for such an application when he went through a period of strong emotional impact. That’s when he realized that the problems he faced were actually shared by the young people of his generation.

"(...) and I thought it was time to step out of the box I was in and ask questions to the people around me, my friends, and see what they say. And I was shocked because I realized that everyone has problems, they are different problems, but one common thing is that no one ever communicates and that leads to depression, anxiety, and the need for specialists," explained Alec Finta on Friday evening, on the show "Medika Antidrog" on Medika TV, according to News.ro.

The student shared that the headmistress of the school he attends, Alina-Cristian Dumitrache, a psychotherapist specialist, was the one who listened to him and encouraged him to turn his own experience into help for other young people. This is how the All Good application was born.

How does it work? There are two stages:

  • In the first phase, young people come into contact with an AI agent who listens and does not "judge".
  • Young people are then connected with psychologists who have offered their services for free.

"All Good is an application aimed at helping teenagers with mental health problems. We have an interface, a questionnaire created by specialists, with questions that are not meant to judge you, but to get to know you, no one labels you. We know that each person is different and each one needs to be listened to in a different way, that's why this questionnaire is designed to get to know each person.

Then, the website leads to an AI agent created by me, who will listen to you. It's a robot, we don't claim it can replace a specialist, but it can do a very important and special thing, it can listen and even if it doesn't have feelings, it can make you feel comfortable and speak about your pain," explained the student.

The application includes contact details of specialists, and the AI agent with which teenagers interact is also involved in this aspect, finding a specialist for each teenager.

He mentioned that at the moment there are agreements with 140 psychologists who have agreed to provide a free session for a child in need.

The application can be downloaded on smartphones from Google Play and App Store.
