Romania sends aid to bomb-hit Lebanon. What Bolojan released from state reserves

Romania is sending 15 tons of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Lebanon, affected by the crisis generated by the security situation in the Middle East.

The transport departed on Wednesday morning, with two military aircraft, set to reach its destination through an international convoy.

The aid is initially being transported to Amman, using a C-130 Hercules aircraft and a C-27J Spartan from the Ministry of National Defense.

From there, the cargo will be taken over and transported to Beirut as part of a multinational humanitarian convoy.

What do the aid sent by Romania contain

The humanitarian package includes food and essential equipment: tents, sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, sheets, and pillowcases.

All items come from the national state reserves and are intended for the civilian population affected by the conflict.

The dispatch of aid was decided by the National Emergency Situations Committee, convened by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in response to a request for support received through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

The operation is carried out under the auspices of the European Civil Protection, which will finance 75% of the transportation costs, according to the Executive.
