The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, was received by Nicusor Dan at the Cotroceni Palace.
After the meeting between the two, Karol Nawrocki stated that Poland and Romania are the most important strategic responsibility centers of NATO, true „fortresses” on the eastern flank, assuming the greatest responsibility for defending Europe against Russia.
During a joint press conference with Nicușor Dan, Nawrocki emphasized the importance of the B9 format and the Three Seas Initiative, presenting the positions of the Eastern flank states on an international scale.
"It is important because our countries take on the greatest responsibility for defending Europe against Russia. Both Poland in the north and Romania in the south are those fortresses on NATO's eastern flank.
Today, Warsaw and Bucharest are the most important strategic responsibility centers of NATO on the eastern flank.
Our countries not only diagnose security threats but increasingly provide responses to security challenges," stated the Polish President.
He mentioned that discussions with Nicușor Dan focused on the collaboration between the two defense industries. In this context, he thanked Romania for the decision to acquire Warmate drones, adding that they would enhance interoperability in the Eastern flank region.
"We believe that we should not only be recipients of technology but also creators, manufacturers of technology. Our defense industries can contribute to enhancing Europe's resilience against threats.
Of course, there is a need to simplify collaboration procedures and increase the participation of states in the region in defense programs. Both countries are interested in this," affirmed the President of Poland.
Nawrocki recalled that nearly 2,000 Polish companies are present in Romania, developing well, an important aspect for bilateral relations.
Additionally, Karol Nawrocki expressed his country's support for Moldova, both in military and institutional aspects. Poland supports Moldova's European path, he specified.
"Poland will support all countries in Europe and around the world that seek independence from Russian influence. This is our national strategy and my point of view as the President of Poland. Where independence from the Russian Federation is sought, Poland's support can be relied upon," he stated.

Karol Nawrocki welcomed the participation of Scandinavian countries in the B9 Summit, as well as that of the United States representative. Transatlantic relations with the United States represent a guarantee of international security, emphasized the Polish head of state.
"We discussed security in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea regions. These issues are interconnected given the hybrid attacks by the Russian Federation. We have experience: us - in the Baltic Sea, Romania - in the Black Sea, and we will deepen this exchange of experience in our collaboration for the security of Poles and Romanians," added the President of Poland.
Nawrocki mentioned that he met with President Nicușor Dan in Warsaw two months ago. He noted that Romania is a strategic partner of Poland, and these high-level contacts are important for the security of both states and for economic development.
