Simona Halep made a candid announcement about her future.
Our athlete stated that she is afraid of what lies ahead in tennis, as she doesn’t know if she will be able to play at a high level anymore.
Furthermore, Simona announced that she is increasingly considering getting married and having children.
"I told my brother a few months ago that I'm scared of the future. I've never been, because in tennis, you train today for tomorrow. You always have some idea and expect what will happen. But after the experience I went through, I'm a little scared.
Because life is beautiful, but it's also hard. You never know what to expect. I want to get back on the court. That's the near future. I want to compete, to be close to what I used to be, if I can, and I want children. That's the future I desire for myself, to have children and a family. I have other priorities now: to be better, emotional and physical health. There are more important things than a Grand Slam trophy at the moment, because I have a long life ahead, and life is not just about tennis," said Simona Halep to We Are Tennis.
Simona played her first match after her return in March, at Miami, where she was eliminated in the first round by Paula Badosa.
She then had to withdraw in the first round of the Clarince Trophy due to medical issues.
