The mayor of a locality in Gorj county, in office for over three decades, lost the election by a two-vote difference.

Emil Cătănoiu, mayor of the locality Căpreni, Gorj county, lost the election to the AUR candidate, Radu Bârdăcel, according to Viața Gorjului.
"I won by two votes, I thank everyone," stated Radu Bîrdăcel.
According to the Pandurul publication, Radu Bîrdăcel obtained 409 votes, while Emil Cătănoiu received 407.

Emil Cătănoiu had been the mayor of Căpreni for 34 years.
