FC Thun is preparing to make a huge impact in Switzerland, being extremely close to conquering its first title in history.

The white-red team, founded in 1898, decisively defeated Grasshoppers with a score of 5-1 in the 30th round, and is just a few steps away from the trophy, the first in the club’s history.

Among the scorers were Mattias Kait from Estonia, former captain of Rapid, and Brighton Labeau, a former player at Giulesti when the club was in the second division. Mattias Kait (27 years old) parted ways with Rapid last summer and signed with Thun.

Thun has 71 points, 17 more than the second-placed St. Gallen (54 points), who have played one less match. It would be the first title in history for Thun, which only has a second-place finish in its history, in the 2004/2005 season, when it also played in the Champions League, as well as 2 lost Cup finals in 1954/1955 and 2018/2019.

Basel and Young Boys are far from the middle of the table, occupying 4th and 6th places, while Grasshoppers are in 11th place, second to last.

Kait has scored two goals and provided an assist in 21 games this season, while Labeau has 3 goals and two decisive passes in 28 matches.
