Sorana Cîrstea remains the highest-ranked tennis player from Romania in the WTA rankings, holding onto the 18th position in the rankings released on Monday after reaching the quarterfinals at the grass-court tournament at Queen’s Club in London.
Jaqueline Cristian, on the other hand, dropped two places and is now at 40, while Elena-Gabriela Ruse dropped out of the top 100 and is now in the 105th position.
The ranking is dominated by Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, followed by Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Polish Iga Swiatek.
Croatian Donna Vekic, who won the Queen's tournament as a 'lucky loser,' climbed 43 places and is now at 33, but the biggest leap, of 290 places, was made by American Robin Montgomery, the champion from 's-Hertogenbosch, currently ranked 194th in the world.
