Romanian international player praised by the French press after an excellent duel with PSG: "Showed solidity"

A young Romanian international player who has been making a lot of noise lately was praised by the French press after a Saturday evening duel.

PSG won on Saturday evening, away, with a score of 1-0 against Toulouse in the 22nd round of Ligue 1. And Romanian Umit Akdag played for Toulouse for the first 79 minutes of the match.

The Parisians scored the only goal in the 52nd minute, through Fabian Ruiz. Akdag received a yellow card in the 56th minute and was substituted around 15 minutes later by Noah Edjouma, the brother of FCSB player Malcom.

"The Romanian showed solidity against PSG's fierce attack. He was always well positioned and did not leave any space. He was present in duels and blocked Mayulu's shot in the 51st minute," wrote the experts from FootMercato. And Sofa Score gave the U21 international a rating of 6.5.

Toulouse is in 10th place in the French standings, with 27 points. Akdag will join the Romanian national team at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where Romania has been drawn in a group with Slovakia, Italy, and Spain.
