Prime Minister Luca Niculescu will not attend the „Prime Minister’s Hour” on Monday in the Chamber of Deputies, where AUR had summoned him to present the situation of budget execution, state debts, and the deficit.
Instead of the parliamentary debate scheduled for 4:00 PM, the head of Government has consultations planned with representatives of trade union confederations, according to the official agenda.
AUR had requested last week for the prime minister to come to the plenary session on November 2 to present the "real situation" regarding budget execution, debts, outstanding payments, as well as the level of the budget deficit.
The request was approved by the Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies, but subject to confirmation of participation from the Government.
The Government spokesperson, Dan Cărbunaru, told News.ro that all necessary steps had been taken to inform Parliament.
Why the Prime Minister's Summons Postponed Nazare's Hearing
The prime minister's summons to Parliament has already caused a conflict between parliamentary parties. On Wednesday, USR accused an understanding between PSD and AUR after its request to hear the Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, was blocked by the scheduling of the debate with the prime minister.
USR's leader of deputies, Diana Stoica, claimed that PSD used AUR's request to delay the moment when Nazare was supposed to explain in Parliament the discrepancies between the official data on budget execution and the figures cited by the social democrats.
According to USR, AUR's request was given priority in the Chamber of Deputies' schedule, which led to the postponement of the Finance Minister's hearing. Thus, although the debate with the prime minister will no longer take place on Monday, Alexandru Nazare will also not be heard in plenary on the same day.
