One month after the disaster of the Munich Security Conference, when the newly appointed US Vice President, J.D. Vance, fiercely attacked Romania, accusing it of not being a democracy because it canceled the elections, Florin-Lazăr Vlădică, a mysterious figure and graduate of the Banat Agricultural University, arrives at the Cotroceni Palace.
54-year-old Vlădică gravitated around businessmen Ovidiu Tender and Frank Timiș (Roșia Montană), „leaving traces in at least four cross-border schemes with elements of corruption,” wrote the investigative publication captura.ro, which published a lengthy article a few days ago about the controversies surrounding this figure.
„When he arrived in Cuba, Florin Vlădică lived in the Miramar neighborhood, the most luxurious in Havana, where most foreign embassies are located. Built near the city’s golden beaches before the communist revolution, the exclusive villas in this district have since become protocol houses for the local nomenclature, diplomats, or wealthy tourists. Vlădică occupied one of them,” writes journalist Roxana Garaiman for captura.ro, who closely followed the career of the man who is a state advisor at the National Security Department, director of the Integrated Information Office at Cotroceni Palace, the most important support for President Nicușor Dan regarding Romania’s security.

The PSD Channel at Cotroceni Palace
From the extensive documentation of the crisis installed at all levels of power in our country after Russia’s strong interference in the 2024 elections, which led to the cancellation of the presidential ones, as well as from the discussion with former Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, it appears that Florin-Lazăr Vlădică arrived at Cotroceni Palace following an emergency plan.
Most likely, this was devised after the Munich disaster and the strong signals received through various channels that Trump is connected with Putin and that they want Călin Georgescu as president.
For those who still remember, panic set in then because no one inside the political power system in Bucharest had any access to Donald Trump.
Florin-Lazăr Vlădică arrived at Cotroceni Palace in March 2025, through a PSD – intelligence services channel, as he had been appointed by Sorin Grindeanu in 2017, when he was prime minister, as head of the Armaments Department at the Ministry of National Defense.
Vlădică was brought in because, following his activities and evaluations, his connections were strong with people in the MAGA area and with dubious financiers of Donald Trump’s campaigns.
Specialized Assistance from SRI
"All the appointments I made were based on an approval confirming that the appointed persons had no past issues that would create impediments for the position they were proposed for…", declared Ilie Bolojan during the Controverse podcast, produced by spotmedia.ro.
Article 25 of Law 182 from April 12, 2002, regarding the protection of classified information, states in article 25 that "The Presidential Administration establishes its own measures for the protection of classified information, with specialized assistance from the SRI".
Ilie Bolojan, in the position of interim president, appointed Florin-Lazăr Vlădică, for reasons of national security, as advisor at Cotroceni Palace.
He is retained in office by Nicușor Dan, and on March 31, at a restaurant in Bucharest, he is found at a table with Sorin Grindeanu, his political protector for the last decade, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, the MAGA ambassador appointed by Donald Trump in Athens.

In the Controverse podcast, Ilie Bolojan stated that "only some of the presidential advisors were proposed by me," implying, without stating it directly, that Florin-Lazăr Vlădică was not among the advisors brought or preferred by him, unlike, for example, Cristian Diaconescu.
"…the overthrow of the government I led was an irresponsible action by the Social Democratic Party, supported by AUR - that is certain," declared Ilie Bolojan.
"And it was not caused by the fact that I violated the government program, but by the fact that I respected it. When we tried to exercise control, reduce expenses, eliminate waste, cut client networks, that disturbed many. It was evident, and I believe Romanians understood the motivations that led to this…", the former prime minister added on the Controverse podcast.
An Obsession That Blocked a Country
Florin-Lazăr Vlădică is the key element, from the informational heart of the Romanian state, who made the connection between Nicușor Dan, Sorin Grindeanu, and MAGA representatives, with the goal of persuading Donald Trump to receive the President of Romania on a visit.
Nothing mattered on the path to achieving this objective, still unrealized: neither preserving the coalition, nor triggering a political crisis that lasted six months, nor the fact that PSD returned to government.
The mutations in American politics are so extensive and profound after a decade of Donald Trump that they will affect both political formations, both the liberal-progressive Democrats from the blue camp and the conservative-nationalist-religious from the red camp.
Effectively, in these midterm elections, a political generation will be replaced by another, and the entire way of action, communication, and presentation of leaders will change fundamentally.
Bolojan: I Worked Continuously for the Partnership with the USA
Unfortunately, faced with this event in the USA that will impact the entire world, the ruling elite in Romania is as unprepared as it was in November 2024, when Donald Trump returned to the White House with the aim of enriching himself and destroying the world as we knew it. Fortunately, he only succeeded partially.
"I have always supported - and I believe it is a correct thing - that a country like Romania does not build its relationship with a power such as the United States, our strategic partner, based on the color of those dominating Congress or the type of one administration or another. Regardless of what happens in the United States, Romania has the interest that this partnership be stable and continue, and I, as prime minister, have worked continuously in this direction," declared Ilie Bolojan on the Controverse podcast.
