Internazionale Milano is on the verge of making a major transfer this summer transfer window.
The European vice-champion team, currently engaged in the Club World Cup round of 16, has reached an agreement with Parma for forward Ange-Yoan Bonny, a former student of Chivu.
After several weeks of negotiations with the French forward, there is now an agreement between the parties. According to transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, the two teams have settled on a deal for 23 million euros, without bonuses, to which an additional 2 million could be added for certain objectives.
At the last minute, German club VfB Stuttgart had tried to sway the former Parma forward, even offering him a better salary. Inter has offered Bonny a 5-year contract and a salary of 2 million euros per season, plus performance bonuses.
Inter will face Fluminense from Brazil on Monday evening at 23:00 in the Club World Cup round of 16.
Former Juventus midfielder, Alessio Tacchinardi, explained on a show on Canale 5 why Chivu insisted so much on Bonny: "Chivu is not a fan of joga bonito, with too many passes, but of a more vertical and faster game.
That's why he asked for Bonny, a robust striker, and that's why Inter is negotiating to move Rovella (note - from Lazio) to the midfield. A player of a different profile, less technical, but more dynamic than Hakan Calhanoglu (note - who reportedly requested to be allowed to leave for Galatasaray)."
