Ianis Hagi’s future at Glasgow Rangers remains uncertain, and the likelihood of the Romanian midfielder leaving Scotland this summer is very high.
Ianis Hagi is not part of Rangers’ plans for the new season, and the Glasgow club, even though they paid €3.5 million for the Romanian from Genk in 2020, are close to parting ways with the son of the legendary Gheorghe Hagi.
This is because Ianis Hagi's name does not appear in the team's official squad for the new season, and the number 7, worn by Hagi at Rangers until now, has been taken over by Oscar Cortes, a player on loan from Lens.
The Scottish press insists that a long-term injury, along with Hagi's poor form shown at Alaves in Spain, are a few reasons for the separation: "There doesn't seem to be any sign of a desire to extend the Romanian's contract, and it would be beneficial for all parties for him to find his form elsewhere," writes the website ibroxnews.com.
Ianis Hagi's market value is €2 million, having scored 11 goals for Rangers in 63 matches.
