Travelers from Europe will be able to take unlimited flights for 499 euros per year, as part of a new travel subscription service offered by Wizz Air.
The annual subscription „fly as much as you can,” which allows passengers to book one-way and round-trip flights throughout the year, will be available at the introductory rate until August 16, before the price increases to 599 euros.
Details on the airline's website show that passengers can book unlimited flights to any of the international destinations - including Athens, Madrid, Paris, and Reykjavik - up to three days before departure, with the booking window set to open in September, Reuters reports.
Each booking is subject to an additional fixed fee of 9.99 euros, and baggage beyond one personal item will incur an additional charge.
The airline said it initially plans to launch 10,000 "fly as much as you can" subscriptions.
Seats will be subject to availability, depending on "several external and internal factors."
The launch follows similar subscription packages from American carriers, such as Frontier Airlines, which last year announced an unlimited Go Wild! for $599 for its North American routes.
However, while some European carriers offer packages with multiple flights for a set fee, unlimited packages remain a new concept on the continent. This comes at a time when Wizz Air has seen its profits deteriorate and customer satisfaction decrease, amid greater pressure on the sector following the post-pandemic travel boom.
Earlier this month, the Hungarian airline reported a 44% decrease in operating profit for the first quarter.
Meanwhile, a customer satisfaction rating of 44% places Wizz Air at the bottom of a February ranking of European short-haul carriers, conducted by the consumer group Which?.
The airline, which already operates flights to the Maldives, Cairo, and Dubai, previously stated that it is exploring new routes from Europe to India.
