WTA released the new world ranking in women’s tennis on Monday, and Simona Halep (32 years old) climbed in the hierarchy.
Although she withdrew injured from the Trophee Clarins, where she won the first set against McCartney Kessler, Simona Halep has experienced a ten-place jump in the WTA ranking. Despite not playing much, our athlete has climbed to 1139th place.
Halep had a wildcard for the tournament in Rabat (Morocco) this week, but a knee injury prevents her from participating.
Sorana Cîrstea also moved up two positions in the WTA ranking, to 30th place, Ana Bogdan maintained her 63rd place, Jaqueline Cristian climbed one spot (67), while Irina Begu made a huge leap forward: a 34-place jump to 127th position.
Plummeting four positions is Gabriela Rusa, down to 152nd place.
