Starting from July 1st, the guaranteed minimum gross base salary in the country will be increased from 4,050 lei to 4,325 lei.
The increase means a gross increase of 275 lei, equivalent to a 6.8% advance compared to the current level.
After taxes and applying the deduction of 200 lei, the minimum net salary will reach approximately 2,699 lei, which means an increase of 125 lei in hand for employees.
Also, starting from July 2026, the hourly rate of the minimum wage will be 25.949 lei/hour, calculated for a full working schedule of 166.667 hours per month, on average.
Traffic fines are also increasing
Along with the increase in the minimum wage, fines for drivers who violate traffic laws will also increase.
The value of the fine point is set by the Road Code at 5% of the minimum gross base salary in the country.
Therefore, the fine point will increase from 202.5 lei to 216.25 lei, which means an increase of approximately 6.8%.
According to a calculation made by Mediafax, exceeding the legal limit by 10-20 km/h is sanctioned with two or three fine points, so the driver will pay between 432.5 lei and 648.75 lei starting from July 1st.
For exceeding by 21-30 km/h, four or five fine points are applied, meaning a fine ranging from 865 lei to 1,081.25 lei.
If the legal speed limit is exceeded by 31-40 km/h, the fine will be from six to eight points, meaning between 1,297.5 lei and 1,730 lei.
Drivers who pay the fine within the legal deadline can still pay half of it, a facility that remains unchanged.
