AUR remains the top choice among Romanians for the parliamentary elections, but the party’s score drops below the 40% threshold again, according to the Informat.ro Barometer – INSCOP Research, 8th edition, conducted between March 2-6, 2026.
The data shows that the party led by George Simion remains ahead of its competitors, but the gap with the other parties is no longer widening, and in recent months, there is no clear trend of growth or decline for any of the political formations.
AUR remains the leader, but loses three percentage points compared to the beginning of the year

According to the survey, 38% of voters who expressed a voting preference would vote for AUR in the parliamentary elections.
In second place is PSD, with 19.2%, followed by PNL with 14.5% and USR with 11.4%.
The ranking is completed by:
- UDMR – 4%
- SENS – 3.6%
- SOS Romania – 3.3%
- POT – 3%
- Other party – 1.6%
- Independent – 1.4%
Compared to January 2026, AUR drops from 40.9% to 38%, while PSD and PNL show small variations.
INSCOP Research Director, Remus Ștefureac, said that the evolution in recent months rather indicates a stabilization of electoral preferences.
"The INSCOP-Informat.ro Barometer shows that AUR drops below the 40% threshold again, reaching 38% down from the nearly 41 percent at the beginning of the year. PSD and PNL are separated by 3-5 percentage points (…), while PNL and USR are separated by 1-3 percentage points," he said.
He added that the analysis of the last 10 months of INSCOP measurements does not indicate a clear trend of growth or decline for any party.
How would the vote look if only certain voters participate

If only respondents who say they will definitely vote are taken into account, the ranking changes slightly, but AUR remains the leader.
The results are as follows:
- AUR – 38.6%
- PSD – 16.9%
- PNL – 13.9%
- USR – 13.4%
- UDMR – 4.4%
- SENS – 3.6%
- SOS Romania – 3.4%
- POT – 3.1%
- Other party – 1.5%
- Independent – 1.2%
The differences between the parties in the central area of the ranking become very small: PNL and USR are separated by only a few percentage points, and PSD maintains a relatively modest advantage over the liberals.
How many Romanians say they will go to vote

- 16.2% chose 1, stating they definitely will not vote.
The rest of the options fall between these two extremes.
