The Patriarch of Putin, on the nuclear danger: Christians should not fear the end of the world (Video)

Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church stated that there is no need to instill fear around nuclear weapons, as Christians are not afraid of the end of the world.

The Russian Patriarch thanked Russian scientists for developing „incredible weapons” and mentioned that too much concern about nuclear apocalypse „is not good for spiritual health,” as reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

"Fear surrounding possible apocalyptic scenarios, excessive alarmism, and speculations about the nuclear issue are not spiritually beneficial. The enemy of humanity tries to sow unrest in people's hearts... because it is easier to manipulate a person devoid of spiritual values... We should not engage in such things. Christians are not afraid of the so-called end of the world," Kirill said at the plenary session of the 26th World Council of Russian People.

"We await the Lord Jesus Christ who will come in great glory, destroy Evil, and judge all nations," he added.

Kirill emphasized that this "does not mean that we should stand idly by." "On the contrary, our earthly mission is to be soldiers of the Lord... to resist Evil and defend high moral ideals. This is the goal set in Russia," he specified.

This is not the first time the head of the Russian Orthodox Church has told Russians not to fear death. In September 2022, after the first partial mobilization ordered by Vladimir Putin, Kirill said that a person with "true faith" becomes "invincible" when they no longer fear death.

Kirill justified the conflict from the beginning of the war, giving speeches about Russia as a "peace-loving power" that does not engage in "military adventures."

The recent statements of the Russian patriarch come as Ukraine and Western allies have repeatedly crossed the so-called red lines set by Moscow through the delivery of tanks, F-16 aircraft, and Western missiles for strikes on Russian territory, as noted by the cited publication.

On November 19, Putin approved Russia's updated nuclear doctrine, which considers "the launch of ballistic missiles" against Russia as one of the conditions for using nuclear weapons.

However, Ukraine has received authorization from the United States to use American ATACMS missiles and, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, has already used them on Russian territory.
