After participating in the Trophee Clarins in Paris, Simona Halep is scheduled to start another tournament, where she has received a wildcard.
The former world number one received an invitation to the main draw from the organizers of the WTA 125 Rabat Grand Prix De Son Altesse Royale La Princesse Lalla Meryem tournament, as reported by lopinion.ma. Additionally, the source mentioned that alongside Halep, Paula Badosa was also invited to the tournament in Morocco.
"The highlight of this tournament will be the presence of the former world number 1, Romanian Simona Halep, and the former world number 2, Spanish Paula Badosa," noted the organizers, as cited by Flashscore.
Lucia Bronzetti and Martina Trevisan, Anna Blinkova, Sara Sorribes Tormo, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and Mayar Sherif are other players who will participate in the Rabat tournament.
Grand Prix De Son Altesse Royale La Princesse Lalla Meryem will take place from May 18 to 25.
Simona Halep has played three finals on African soil, two in Fez in 2010 and 2011, and one in Marrakech in 2013.
