A former England coach explains exactly what Drăgușin is missing to cope in the Premier League: "So far he hasn't been accustomed"

Radu Drăgușin is going through some delicate moments at Tottenham Hotspur, the team where he is currently playing in the Premier League in England.

He received a direct red card in the 8th minute of Thursday’s Europa League match against Qarabag, with a score of 3-0, subsequently falling out of favor with the press and especially with British supporters. A legendary player of England and a former national team coach of the Three Lions, Glen Hoddle, a former midfielder for Tottenham during the period 1970–1987, analyzed Drăgușin’s performance in England so far.

Hoddle says that the central defender has not yet adapted to Postecoglu's preferred style of play, which involves high pressing: "I've seen him play for the national team and he impressed me at times. He still doesn't convey to me that he feels comfortable. I think it's a new club for him and the advanced way the defensive line plays might be causing him some issues. Perhaps he hasn't been used to doing this at the clubs he played for before. He needs to improve his defensive responsibilities a bit; he can handle the ball at his feet, but there is room for progress here. I believe Drăgușin has the potential to be a good player, but I'm certain that Spurs' high defensive line, and the way Ange Postecoglou likes to play, is making him feel out of his element at the moment," stated Glenn Hoddle, according to spurs-web.com.

So far, Drăgușin has only played in 3 matches in the new season for Spurs; he is a regular starter for the Romanian national team, but at Tottenham, he is in the shadow of Postecoglu's preferred duo, Romero - Van de Ven.

In the last two matches he played, Radu Drăgușin disappointed in the Spurs jersey. First, he made a mistake in Coventry's goal in the 16th minute of the English League Cup, when he played the goal scorer offside. Then came the catastrophe in the Europa League.
