Rangers coach Philippe Clement publicly sent a message to Ianis Hagi after sending him to the reserve team.
Clement revealed that it wasn’t him who decided for Ianis Hagi to be sent to the reserve team, but the management.
Most likely, the decision is related to the salary increase that Ianis would receive if he continued playing at Rangers.
"I told you, there was a clear discussion with Hagi about this before the summer camp. I won't go into details. I can only say that it's not my decision. Please, I want to talk about the players who are currently involved at Rangers," said Philippe Clement.
Rapid's owner, Dan Șucu, confirmed that he wants Ianis Hagi at Giulești: "Yes, we want him," Șucu said.
Ianis Hagi was sent to the reserve team of Rangers and was told to look for a new club.
He hopes to secure a contract abroad as he doesn't wish to return to Romania at this time.
Ianis comes after a poor season at Alaves, where he didn't manage to score in La Liga.
