Edi Iordănescu (46 years old) has received his first offer after the official separation from the Romanian national team.
The management of Rapid Club is already looking for a replacement for Neil Lennon, a coach brought in with great fanfare to the team this summer. The results under his leadership are not as expected, so there is a chance that his tenure will be short-lived.
Dan Șucu, the owner of Rapid, wants Edi Iordănescu to replace Lennon, and according to golazo.ro, he has already called the former national team coach to gauge interest in a possible collaboration. Iordănescu Jr. has not turned down Șucu, but, as the source mentioned, his financial demands are high.
Edi Iordănescu officially left the Romanian national team a few weeks ago, after an excellent run in the latter part of his tenure on the technical bench, including at EURO 2024, and he is now a free agent.
