Excellent news received by Corvinul Hunedoara from UEFA

Corvinul Hunedoara has started its European campaign perfectly, advancing to the second preliminary round of the Europa League after defeating the Hungarians from Paks with a 4-2 aggregate score.

The team from the Castle, who won last season’s Romanian Cup after a final against Oțelul Galați, will face the Croatians from NK Rijeka in the next round.

The people from Hunedoara received very good news from UEFA, which asked them to choose their stadium for the upcoming rounds if the blue and white team qualifies. Corvinul chose the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu, receiving UEFA's approval to play there even if they qualify for the group stage of a European competition, whether it be the Europa League or the Conference League, as reported by ProSport newspaper.

Corvinul will share the arena with AFC Hermannstadt, who are solely focused on their Superliga journey: "The UEFA delegate was very pleased with the conditions offered by the Sibiu stadium. And matches can be played there without any issues, even in the group stages of European cups. Everything is in place," as mentioned in the aforementioned newspaper.

Corvinul Hunedoara is currently the only Romanian team in the Europa League. Next week, we will have 4 matches involving Romanian teams: FCSB against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Hunedoara against Rijeka, CFR Cluj against Neman Grodno, and Universitatea Craiova against NK Maribor, the latter two in the Conference League.
