The press in the United States writes about the latest setback suffered by Simona Halep (33 years old).
Expected to return to the court in 2025 after receiving wildcards at Auckland and in the Australian Open qualifiers, Simona is once again plagued by medical issues, which have led her to withdraw from both tournaments.
Americans have written about the blow received by Halep "when everything seemed to be going well."
Additionally, journalists from the USA note that Simona will use January for recovery following the medical issues.
"Back in the circuit in March, after the suspension for doping, Simona Halep was limited and participated in only four tournaments in 2024 due to medical problems with her knee and shoulder.
Just when everything seemed to be going well for the double Grand Slam winner, with wildcards at Auckland and in the Australian Open qualifiers, Halep felt pain again in the problematic areas after playing a set of singles and three of doubles at the World Tennis League.
She plans to use the next month for recovery after the medical issues arose," writes the Tennis World USA website.
Simona Halep is expected to participate in the Transylvania Open, in Cluj-Napoca, a tournament taking place from February 3-9, 2025.
