The new WTA rankings: Simona Halep climbs even though she hasn't played

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced the new world ranking as a result of the results recorded in the last week.

Although she hasn’t played since the Miami tournament, Simona Halep has moved up one position and reached 1149.

Our athlete will return to the circuit next week, at the Trophee Clarins tournament.

On the other hand, Sorana Cîrstea has dropped two places to 32, while Ana Bogdan has climbed one spot to 63. Jaqueline Cristian has jumped five positions to 68.

Only three changes were recorded in the WTA top 10 after the Madrid tournament. Marketa Vondrousova and Qinwen Zheng moved up one spot each, while Maria Sakkari dropped one position.
