The British press announces Radu Drăgușin's shocking departure from Tottenham

Romanian central defender Radu Drăgușin could part ways with Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a possibly surprising manner.

The Romanian has reportedly been placed on the transfer list following the arrival of Thomas Frank’s new staff at Spurs. He is not part of the plans of the Danish manager who arrived in London this summer and aims for a total reconstruction of the club that finished last season in 17th place in the Premier League, as reported by tbrfootball.com.

Radu Drăgușin may no longer be a viable option for Spurs officials after the arrival of Kevin Danso this summer. The Romanian, who came from Genoa for 25 million euros, suffered a serious injury in January after tearing his cruciate ligament.

"Tottenham Hotspur has lost confidence in one of their first-team defenders and is open to selling him this summer.

Drăgușin, whom Tottenham acquired for 25 million pounds, has struggled to establish himself, and now Lilywhites would not stand in his way if he decides to leave. Thomas Frank will look to reshape his new Spurs team this summer and will have plenty of difficult decisions to make regarding departures.

The defender has fallen in the hierarchy at the North London club, with Kevin Danso jumping ahead of him after his arrival in January. It wouldn't surprise me if Dragusin were to leave this summer. I don't think the Spurs have been impressed with what he has done since joining the club.

When someone like Drăgușin, who is confident he can secure a spot in the first team, ends up on the bench, then you have a problem. I'm not sure Spurs would stand in his way," the source mentioned about Drăgușin.

Drăgușin played 28 games at Spurs last season, totaling exactly 2,180 minutes. However, he will face serious competition in his position upon his return, as apart from Danso, Spurs will also welcome 3 more central defenders this summer: Ashley Phillips (20 years old), who returns to Spurs after his loan spell at Stoke City, Luka Vuskovic (18 years old) from Hajduk Split, and Kota Takai (20 years old) from Kawasaki Front, a team in the top tier of Japan.
