Darren Cahill makes a statement full of sincerity about Simona Halep

Darren Cahill made a statement full of sincerity about Simona Halep (33 years old), who retired from tennis in February.

The Australian coach remembered the moment when Simona won her first Grand Slam title, Roland Garros 2018, after defeating American Sloane Stephens in the final.

Cahill said that the title won by Halep in Paris is the most emotional moment of his career as a player or coach.

"Certainly the most emotional moment for me as a coach and player was when Simona won Roland Garros. Seeing the journey she had, how she fought, how she looked on the court, it is definitely the most emotional moment.

She lost the final at the Australian Open before Roland Garros. An outstanding player! She deserves all the credit in the world," said Darren Cahill, as quoted by the British press.

Before winning Roland Garros 2018, Simona Halep had lost two finals in Paris: in 2014 to Maria Sharapova and in 2017 to Jelena Ostapenko.

Simona Halep's collaboration with Darren Cahill ended in 2021, but the two maintain an excellent relationship at present.
