Romanian coach Cosmin Olăroiu made history in the Arab countries and has just conquered the Asian Champions League 2, a kind of Europa League of our continent, alongside Al Sharjah.
The team coached by the Romanian coach won the final against Lion City Sailors by a narrow margin, with a 2-1 score, with a goal scored in extra time, in the 97th minute.
Cosmin Olăroiu won his fourth trophy with Al-Sharjah, after the President's Cup (2) and the Super Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Larbi opened the scoring in the 75th minute for Oli's team, while Lion City equalized in the 92nd minute, through Lestienne. The decisive goal came in the final phase, in the 97th minute, with Meloni's goal, from Caio Lucas' pass, and the team from the United Arab Emirates thus won the major trophy.
This was the final of the 21st edition of the competition, in which 31 teams participated.
Al Sharjah missed out on the title in the United Arab Emirates, with the title being won by Al Ahli. Olaroiu will become the national team's coach this summer, after finishing the season at Al Sharjah. He could reach the 2026 World Cup next year.
