Ciprian Ciucu, 47 years old, is the new general mayor of Bucharest after obtaining over 36% of the votes from the people of Bucharest in Sunday’s elections.
The liberal, who led Sector 6 for five years, being re-elected in June 2024 with a score of 73%, lives in an apartment building, has some money in the bank, but also debts.
According to the most recent asset statement, published in June 2024 (before the CCR decision removing the obligation from the law), the new mayor of the Capital owns two plots of land: one of 5,047 sqm in Argeș County and one of 500 sqm in Ilfov County.
Regarding residences, Ciucu has two apartments in Bucharest: the first, only 34 sqm, purchased in 2004, and the second, 61 sqm, bought in 2010.
The Ciucu family also owns a Renault car manufactured in 2023. According to the same document, the Ciucu couple does not have jewelry, art collections, and do not possess heritage objects.
Savings and Debts
However, Ciprian Ciucu and his wife together have approximately 60,000 euros in bank accounts, deposits, investment funds, or private pension funds.
The couple also has two active bank loans: one of 46,303 euros and another of 75,200 lei, both due in the coming years.
Additionally, in the asset statement, Ciprian Ciucu also listed loans taken from individuals amounting to over 200,000 lei.
Ciucu also reported a loan granted to the National Liberal Party, amounting to 278,696 lei.
Income Earned in 2024
In the fiscal year covered by the asset statement, Ciprian Ciucu earned a salary of 214,810 lei from his position as mayor of Sector 6, in addition to rental income of 2,880 euros and an allowance of 4,382 lei as a member of the National Integrity Council (CNI).
His wife reported earnings of 89,360 lei from her financial management activity at the "Romanian Center for European Policies" Association.
According to the statement of interests, Ciprian Ciucu is listed as an associate at HF Advising SRL, a company registered in Bucharest. He owns 50 social parts, totaling 450 lei, and did not report any other significant commercial interests.
