PSD announces, once again, that they will not vote in any way for Siegfried Mureșan, the one proposed for the position of prime minister by PNL-USR-UDMR.
The Social Democrats cite 5 reasons why „Siegfried Mureșan MUST NOT become and will not become the Prime Minister of Romania”:
- He became a Member of the European Parliament with the corrupt money of Baron Pinalti. Placed on the list by Elena Udrea, at the command of informer Băsescu. Then he betrayed PMP and went to PNL.
- He voted against Romanian agriculture in the European Parliament, supporting the interests of other states in the Mercosur Agreement.
- He worked more in the service of the German state than for Romania. He is totally disconnected from life in Romania, having spent the last 20 years outside the country. A person from Brussels with ZERO knowledge about the realities in Romania.
- He is profoundly anti-American, at a time when the Strategic Partnership with the USA is the most important security guarantee for Romania!
- He is Bolojan's man, who drove the economy into recession. A person with the same political and economic mentality cannot bring about the change demanded by Romanians!
"PSD will not vote for Siegfried Mureșan as Prime Minister! Under any circumstances! Shame on Bolojan for this prime minister proposal!", PSD conveyed on Facebook.
The message from the Social Democrats comes after Siegfried Mureșan mentioned on Monday that the other option for prime minister is Sorin Grindeanu, who cannot regain the trust of European partners due to the role played in the adoption of Emergency Ordinance 13 and the performance of PSD governments in recent years.
In a post published on Facebook, Mureșan states that trust at the European level "is earned only through actions, not through statements."
"The European Union will never forget that the Social Democratic Party, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, tried to legalize political corruption through Emergency Ordinance 13," wrote the MEP.
He argues that the massive protests of 2017 remain in the memory of European partners.
The statements come in the context of the deadlock noted by Nicuşor Dan in the negotiations for the formation of the new Government, where PNL, USR, and UDMR support a prime minister from outside PSD, while the Social Democrats insist that the future Executive should be led by Sorin Grindeanu.
