An 81-year-old man from Galaţi, Romania, was detained for 24 hours after pushing a woman down the stairs of a building while she was descending with her eight-month-old baby in a stroller.
During the fall, the child hit his head and was taken to the hospital.

„In fact, during the afternoon of October 2, 2024, following a heated argument in the stairwell of a building in Galaţi, between a 27-year-old woman from the same locality, who was with her eight-month-old son in a stroller, and an 81-year-old man, the president of the homeowners’ association and a resident of the building, the latter became aggressive and pushed the woman while she was trying to descend the steps in front of the building with the stroller.
As a result of the impact, the woman lost her balance and fell with the stroller, and during the fall, the baby got injured."
The police detained the elderly man for assault or other violence, and on Friday, he will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Galaţi Court for the purpose of taking a preventive measure.
