Călin Georgescu stated that he met Alexandr Dugin, known as Putin’s ideologist, twice, mentioning that they discussed various aspects, some related to the Club of Rome.
„I know Dugin, yes, of course. I met him when we had a discussion related to the Club of Rome, in a very broad, international context. I met him once in Europe, in Vienna, and then in a context with other people,” said Călin Georgescu on Wednesday evening on Realitatea TV.
His statement comes a few days after a post appeared on an account attributed to Vladimir Putin's ideologist, Alexandr Dugin, claiming that Romania will be part of Russia.
"Where can progressives and Democratic elites flee from the US? Canada? Trudeau was recently at Mar-a-Lago. Israel? There is a war. London, Paris, Dubai? Exactly where Russian liberals fled. Or Moldova? It will soon be part of Romania. But Romania will be part of Russia," reads the post on the account attributed to Dugin.
This post is followed by another: "It could also be Australia and New Zealand. For now, a safer place. Europe may fall or fall into the hands of right-wing populists. Or be seriously affected by Oreshnik (Russian experimental hypersonic missile - ed.)."

On Wednesday, President Klaus Iohannis agreed to declassify, according to the law, at the request of the issuing institutions, the information presented by SRI, SIE, and MAI in the CSAT meeting.
SRI's document reveals that data was obtained showing an aggressive promotion campaign, carried out by circumventing national electoral legislation, and exploiting algorithms of social media platforms to rapidly increase Călin Georgescu's popularity.
SIE indicates that Romania is a target for Russian hybrid actions, including cyberattacks, information leaks, and sabotage.
