The Romanian national team has received a warning, directly from the opposing camp, ahead of the match with Belgium at EURO 2024.
Jan Vertonghen, one of the veterans of the Belgian national team, stated that after being criticized for his misses in the match against Slovakia, Romelu Lukaku will use the pressure on him to motivate himself and have a good game against Romania.
The defender mentioned that he is confident Romelu Lukaku will score against Romania on Saturday at 22:00 in the second match of Group E at EURO 2024.
"Romelu (note - Lukaku) and I talk a lot. He is very open, has experienced a lot in his career, ups and downs. One day you are a hero, then you miss two goal chances and receive criticism. But there is no one I believe in more than him.
This will motivate him. No one has a stronger mentality than Lukaku. He loves these moments when all the attention is on him. On Saturday, he will find a way to score, I am convinced," said Jan Vertonghen, Romelu Lukaku's teammate in the national team, ahead of Belgium - Romania.
Belgium lost 1-0 in the first match at EURO 2024 against Slovakia, so they need a win against Romania - who defeated Ukraine in the first group match - to keep their hopes alive for qualifying for the knockout stage at the European Championship.
