The Spanish press, annoucenment about Andrei Rațiu's transfer to FC Barcelona: A twist of fate

The Spanish press makes a surprising announcement about the transfer of Andrei Rațiu (26 years old), the right-back currently at Rayo Vallecano, to FC Barcelona.

The Spaniards have learned that the Catalan team has removed Rațiu from the shortlist of right-backs with transfer potential in order to „double up” on Jules Kounde, although there were several reports suggesting that the Romanian was seriously being considered.

FC Barcelona has updated its list of right-backs, from which they will choose one, and Rațiu is no longer on it.

"It is noteworthy that Andrei Rațiu, the right-back of Rayo Vallecano, is no longer an option for FC Barcelona. The Romanian was closely linked to Barcelona and has a release clause of 25 million euros. Hansi Flick was less interested in Rațiu, as he was on his backup list," writes the Spanish press.

Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Vanderson (AS Monaco), Marc Pubil (Almeria), and Givairo Read (Feyenoord) are the players in the "final" for the transfer to FC Barcelona, as mentioned by the source.

Rațiu has scored twice and provided three assists in 28 matches (2377 minutes) played in all competitions this season at Rayo Vallecano.
