The press in France writes about an important decision made by Olympique Lyon before the match with FCSB in the Europa League.
Olympique Lyon is traveling to Bucharest for the Europa League match with FCSB, but will not train in the capital.
Since UEFA does not require teams to have an official training session during a European trip, the French team will arrive in Bucharest on Wednesday evening, 24 hours before the match.
Lyon will only hold a press conference in Bucharest.
„As training on the opponent’s field is no longer a requirement, OL has chosen to leave for Bucharest only on Wednesday afternoon. (…) The OL players and Paulo Fonseca’s staff will head to Romania on Wednesday, 24 hours before the first leg of the Europa League round of 16,” a press release states.
One obligation imposed by UEFA is to hold a press conference before the match, which will take place at the National Arena, the temple of FCSB and the Romanian national team.
However, the Lyon team will not set foot on Romanian soil to familiarize themselves before Thursday’s encounter,” writes the press from France.
