American Danielle Collins and Kazakh Elena Rybakina will play the final of the WTA 1000 tennis tournament in Miami (Florida), with total prizes of 8,770,480 dollars, after winning in the semifinals on Thursday.

Collins (30 years old), who announced that this will be her last season in the professional circuit, defeated Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in the penultimate round with 6-3, 6-2, qualifying for her first WTA 1000 final.

The American controlled the match with Alexandrova, who was coming after two remarkable victories, one against world number one Iga Swiatek, and another against American Jessica Pegula, the fifth-ranked player in the world.

Azarenka, 34 years old, remains with 199 victories at WTA 1000 tournaments in her 19-year career. The Belarusian has won three titles in Miami (2009, 2011, 2016).
