The 26-year-old Romanian forward, Daniel Birligea, who was transferred a few days ago from FCSB to Frosinone for 1.5 million euros, made his debut in the Italian top league.
He played a few minutes towards the end of the match in his team’s victory against Fiorentina, with a score of 3-0, in the current round of Serie A. The Romanian international, wearing the number 11 on his back for the yellow-blue team, came on for Raimondo, his direct competitor for the striker position, in the 89th minute.
The former red and blue player spent only 6 minutes on the field, and after the game, the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport provided a brief characterization:
"Transferred on loan with a purchase option, he will have the task of increasing the number of goals for the team coached by Alvini. Versatile in attack and skilled in front of the goal, he possesses the qualities necessary to become a key player in the tactical scheme of the yellow and blue team, but to succeed in this mission, he will first have to face strong competition in that area of the field," noted the Italians.
If Frosinone remains in the top Italian division at the end of this season, then FCSB will receive an additional 3.5 million euros in this deal. In this match against Frosinone, Radu Drăgușin from the viola team made positioning mistakes for all three goals conceded.
