Gică Hagi (59 years old) reacted after Romania’s fantastic victory over Ukraine, 3-0, at EURO 2024 in the first match of group E.
The „King” praised the players’ performance and said, „it’s a day that will remain in history.”
Romania's greatest footballer of all time did not hold back in praising everyone after the resounding success in Munich.
"Everything was perfect, both on the field and in the stands! We also had good tickets, in the VIP section. I sat up high with a friend, and everything was perfect. The fans created an atmosphere... They won, and I, like the boys on the field, everything was fantastic.
We only talk that everything comes in its own time, we had our time, and these boys did everything perfectly, with the staff, with those around them. It's a day that will go down in history with a very good result, and the credit is entirely theirs. Tactically, they played perfectly on both phases, they ran a lot defensively and offensively I knew they had quality.
Among the best matches. We have always had moments when we played very well, but this one might be the best, the highest, and I really liked it from the stands. They did everything perfectly. Romania defeated Ukraine 3-0 on Monday in the first match of group E at EURO 2024, the debut match of the tricolors in the final tournament, with goals from Stanciu, Răzvan Marin, and Drăguș. This is Romania's first victory at a European Championship in 24 years. The last success was in 2000, against England, 3-2.
