Simona Halep hopes to receive a wildcard to play in Roland Garros

Simona Halep (32 years old) made an announcement regarding her participation in Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Back on the court after a doping suspension, Simona Halep has only played at the Miami Open for the moment, but she already has a wildcard for Madrid.

When asked about her participation in Roland Garros, a tournament she won in 2018, Simona Halep said she hopes to receive a wildcard, but she doesn't know if she will get one.

"I hope and wish (note - to play at Roland Garros), but the French are nationalists and, from what I understand, they give wildcards to French women. I really want to play at Roland Garros because it is my favorite tournament and it would be good. But now, the decision is up to them," stated Simona Halep, according to digisport.ro.
