Rangers changes its mind about Ianis Hagi: Turn of events

Ianis Hagi (26 years old) is in the final months of his contract with Rangers, and in the summer, he will be able to leave Ibrox Park for free.

The Scottish press reveals new details about the situation of young Hagi, which seems far from a happy ending for the Scottish club.

However, information presented by British journalists overturns the situation regarding the Romanian international. Although he is in the final months of his contract, Rangers have the option to unilaterally extend his agreement for another year, but the bosses at Ibrox Park do not want this.

The Scots explain why.

"Hagi's contract expires at the end of the season, and Rangers have the option to extend it for another 12 months. However, the club's executives do not consider this option if Ianis does not want to reduce his salary. The player has expressed openness to a proposal from Rangers, but has rejected the offer received.

At 26 years old, he earns £21,000 per week. (...) If he is not willing to accept a salary reduction, his adventure at Rangers could come to an end," the Scottish press writes.

Ianis Hagi has played 19 matches, scored three goals, and provided seven assists in all competitions for Rangers since his inclusion in the first team squad in October 2024.
