Ioan Andone has retired from coaching and moved to Spain.
The former champion coach with Dinamo and CFR Cluj has a home in Spain and noticed that prices are much lower than those in Romania.
"In Spain, I spend less money than in Bucharest. It's more expensive here! Honestly! Taxes, utilities, electricity... In Romania, I pay 2500 lei per month for electricity. In Spain, I pay 210 euros for electricity every two months and I have four bedrooms. There I have everything, refrigerators, air conditioning works, electric radiators," Andone said to Gsp.ro.
Andone also explained that the area where he lives is full of Romanians.
"There are many Romanians there. In Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba, Marbella, and Malaga, there are 170,000 Romanians. It's a very large community. They are building a church, raising funds. An Orthodox church, with a Romanian Orthodox priest. I have been to the service two or three times. I was curious. So far, Romanians used to rent a church, but the vast majority are Catholic."
There are mostly young people there, and I have friends who have construction companies, auto repair shops. I didn't think I could get used to it there, but especially in winter, it's superb. I have never seen snow there! But I am two hours away from Sierra Nevada, you go there and ski as much as you want," Andone added.
According to official data, approximately 650,000 people of Romanian origin live in Spain.
