Atletico Madrid, the club that transferred Horațiu Moldovan from Rapid for 800,000 euros at the beginning of 2024, has determined the fate of the Romanian goalkeeper.
The transfer of Horațiu Moldovan (26 years old) to Atletico Madrid from Rapid was auspicious only in terms of image. However, as an athlete, the goalkeeper suffered due to competition with Jan Oblak, and his time in Madrid is coming to an end.
The Spanish press announces that Horațiu Moldovan is on the verge of leaving Atletico Madrid, where he has not played a single match since joining the club in the Spanish capital. Furthermore, it seems that the Madrid team has already found his replacement.
This replacement is David Soria (31 years old), the goalkeeper of Getafe, who will take Moldovan's place as Oblak's backup.
Called up by Edi Iordănescu for EURO 2024 because he was a starter in almost the entire qualifying campaign for the final tournament, Horațiu Moldovan did not play a single minute in the national team's goal, after failing to make his debut for Atletico Madrid in the last six months.
He is valued at 2.5 million euros by Transfermarkt.
