The prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in Constanța are conducting searches on Friday morning at the Faculty of Medicine within the „Ovidius” University in Constanța.
The information was initially published by Ziua de Constanța, which reports that the prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate – Constanța Territorial Service descended on the faculty’s headquarters on Friday morning.
According to the local publication Ziarul Amprenta, a total of 26 searches are being conducted in the case, both on individuals and legal entities, as well as at the Faculty of Medicine.
Judicial sources cited by the publication claim that the investigation targets alleged acts of corruption and possible fraud in some exams.
Info Sud-Est also reports, citing its own sources, that the investigated accusations involve bribery offenses.
Ovidius University confirms the searches and announces cooperation with DNA
Ovidius University has confirmed that DNA prosecutors are conducting searches at the Faculty of Medicine and announced that they will provide the investigators with the requested documents and information.
"Regarding the information that has appeared in the public space, Ovidius University in Constanța confirms that, on the morning of Friday, September 4, 2026, representatives of the Constanța Territorial Service of the National Anticorruption Directorate are carrying out procedural activities at the Faculty of Medicine's headquarters. The university is fully cooperating with the investigative authorities and is providing them with the documents and information requested, in accordance with the law," stated the institution's representatives, as quoted by News.ro.
The university specifies that it cannot provide any further details at the moment, as "procedural steps are in progress."
As of now, DNA has not officially announced the individuals targeted or the specific accusations in the case.
