Interim President Ilie Bolojan urges Romanians to go out and vote according to their conscience, stating that every Romanian who shows up at the polls will make history.
Attending the Romanian Business Leaders Summit on Wednesday, the interim president emphasized that we are not in an ideal situation, and peaceful times have passed.
Bolojan asked Romanians to think about the country's status in this world, about dignity, about the people who work, about normality.
"We cannot ignore the situation we are in because we are not in an ideal situation, we must admit that, and I said last Sunday, that peaceful times have passed and that every Romanian who goes to vote can make history. Now, from Sunday to a week, I believe every Romanian who goes to vote will make history.
And my plea is for you to go and vote as your conscience dictates, but think about Romania's status in this world, think about dignity, about the people who work, think about normality, and all these things still mean a European Romania, a Romania that works, a Romania that understands that performance is achieved with seriousness and not with scandal. Thank you very much, and I know that you, as always, know what you have to do," stated Ilie Bolojan.

The interim president decorated the Romanian Business Leaders association with the "Merit for the Promotion of Human Rights" order as a knight.
"It is an honor for me, as interim president, to participate in this gala, a gala of an organization that, through the projects you have carried out over all these years and which were presented in the minutes before, shows the importance of your activities, and I said that Romania does not change from Bucharest, from one government to another, but Romania changes from every place where Romanians in private companies or in the public sector do their duty.
But Romania changes faster when people do more than they are asked, and what you are doing - you do more than you are asked - this means accelerating change, this means not just a more entrepreneurial Romania, but a better Romania for everyone, and for all these things, I thank you.
"And I considered it a matter of respect to recognize your contribution, and the institution of the President of Romania has decided to grant this recognition, as I said, as a form of respect for what you do, for your efforts. And I want to thank Mr. Dragoș Anastasiu on this occasion for collegiality and because your spirit has also reached Cotroceni. We do more than we are asked," added Bolojan.
