AUR leader George Simion reacted strongly on Monday morning after Călin Georgescu was picked up by DIICOT prosecutors during an investigation into the formation of a criminal group and an alleged fraud causing a damage of over 1.1 million euros.
„Any of us could be next. Stop the abuses! Romania is a dictatorship!!!!,” wrote George Simion in the vehement message published on Facebook.
The reaction of the AUR leader comes after DIICOT prosecutors carried out five search warrants on Monday in Bucharest, Mogoșoaia, Ciolpani, and Buftea, in a case investigating the formation of a criminal group and fraud with particularly serious consequences, in a continuous form.
According to DIICOT, the investigation targets three individuals who allegedly formed the group in September 2021.
Georgescu was taken in for questioning, and investigators conducted searches at his residence in Mogoșoaia.
