After his request for assistance in reopening the Strait of Hormuz was rejected by most of the United States’ allies, President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday, in a post on Truth Social that exudes irritation, that he „no longer needs help” because Iran has been decimated.
He added that he never needed help in the first place because the United States is the most powerful country in the world.
"The United States has been informed by most of our 'allies' in NATO that they do not wish to get involved in our military operation against the terrorist regime in Iran in the Middle East, despite the fact that almost all countries fully agreed with what we are doing and that Iran cannot be allowed, under any circumstances, to possess nuclear weapons," confesses Donald Trump, who on Monday said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will soon announce the list of countries willing to cooperate in the Strait of Hormuz.
"I am not surprised by their actions," adds the U.S. President, ironically and irritatedly explaining that he has always considered NATO, where the U.S. spends hundreds of billions of dollars a year to protect member countries, as a "one-way street: we will protect them, but they will not do anything for us, especially when needed," he reproaches.
"Fortunately, we have decimated the Iranian military - their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft systems and radars are gone, and, perhaps most importantly, their leaders, practically at all levels, are gone, so they will never threaten us, our allies in the Middle East, or the world again!" - proclaims Donald Trump, even though Iran has continued its attacks, including on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
"Due to our military success, we no longer 'need' and do not want assistance from NATO countries — WE NEVER HAVE!" - announces Donald Trump. "The same goes for Japan, Australia, or South Korea," he continues.
"In fact, speaking as the President of the United States of America, by far the most powerful country in the world, WE DO NOT NEED HELP FROM ANYONE!" - he writes in capital letters, as he usually does to emphasize a certain idea, in the conclusion of his post.
On Sunday, in a phone interview with the Financial Times, President Donald Trump warned that NATO will face a "very bad" future if U.S. allies do not contribute to securing the Strait of Hormuz, sending a tough message to European countries regarding this strategic route. He also urged Beijing to help resolve disruptions in the strait caused by the conflict with Iran.
On Monday, the main allies of the U.S., including the European Union, stated that they have no immediate plans to send ships to the Strait of Hormuz.
