Romania is among the European countries about which Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says have faced acts of sabotage and provocations, in a speech given in Gdańsk on the occasion of marking 87 years since the outbreak of the Second World War.
The statements were made after two fires broke out in Poland at companies producing components for aircraft and drones, including for Ukraine, one of the cases being investigated as a possible act of sabotage, writes Reform News.
Tusk stated that Poland has once again faced acts of sabotage, referring to two fires that occurred on Sunday and Sunday night to Monday, in Skarżysko-Kamienna and Lublin.
"The most important lesson of the events at Westerplatte (referring to the moment when German forces attacked the Polish military garrison on the Westerplatte peninsula, considered the beginning of World War II - ed.) is that those attacked by an aggressor should never be left alone again. Poland has been the victim of numerous provocations. Most likely, a few dozen hours ago, we faced acts of sabotage again," said Donald Tusk.
The Polish Prime Minister listed several European countries he claims have been targeted by such actions.
"Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Denmark, and most recently, Germany have faced incendiary attacks, acts of sabotage, subversion, and provocations," Tusk stated.
He claimed that Russia is behind such operations and referred to the drone incident in Leipzig.
"Yes, we will soon find out that Russian special services organized the drone provocation in Leipzig. Perhaps the Germans, the French, the Italians, the Spanish - all, without exception, all nations and all leaders of the free world - will understand that no one can be left alone in the face of evil," said the Polish Prime Minister.
The statements were made in the context of the two fires in Poland. In Skarżysko-Kamienna, the fire broke out at the headquarters of the company WB ELECTRONICS SA, which produces components for aircraft and drones, including equipment for Ukraine.
The Prosecutor's Office announced that the fire is being investigated on suspicion of "participation in the activities of a foreign intelligence service against the Republic of Poland and the commission of a terrorist offense."
Prosecutors claim that the fire was intentionally set.
"The offense consisted of the deliberate ignition of the headquarters of WB ELECTRONICS SA in Skarżysko-Kamienna, on August 31, 2026, by placing a device containing flammable materials. The fire destroyed storage spaces, and the damages caused are estimated at least 15 million zlotys," prosecutors stated.
A second fire occurred in Lublin, at an administrative and storage building. Polish public television TVP, citing unofficial information, reports that this fire is also suspected not to have been accidental.
According to this information, investigators are considering the hypothesis of sabotage organized by "services from the East."
Polish authorities continue investigations in both cases.
Most recently, today we learn that German police are investigating the presence of explosives found at a power station in Turnow-Preilack, in the Brandenburg state, near the Jänschwalde coal power plant.
