A Russian military drone entered Romanian airspace last night, penetrating 4 kilometers and crashed near the locality of Parcheș, Tulcea county, outside the inhabited area.

Drone debris was found in a vegetation area, and the perimeter has been secured. Specialized teams from the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) and the SRI are set to conduct on-site investigations, as informed by the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) on Thursday.

Two F-16 aircraft took off at 00:16 from the 86th Borcea Air Base to monitor the aerial situation.

"On Thursday, March 26, Russian forces carried out a new series of drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in the northern area of Tulcea county.

At 00:44, a drone deviated by Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense entered the national airspace for a distance of approximately 4 kilometers. The drone crashed 2 km from the locality of Parcheș, outside the inhabited area. A State Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) vehicle and MApN teams were directed to the scene, where they discovered a burned vegetation area and drone debris," announced the Ministry of Defense on Thursday morning, Ministry of Defense.

The cited source specified that the National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations to implement population alert measures in the northern area of Tulcea county, transmitting a RO-ALERT message at 00:35.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense announced that no material damage or casualties have been reported.

In turn, the Tulcea ISU stated that the drone crash caused a fire.

"Around 01:00, a call was received reporting that near the locality of Parcheș in Tulcea county a drone was observed crashing outside the locality, causing a fire.

A firefighting crew from the Tulcea Detachment was dispatched to the scene with a fire truck, and together with forces from the Ministry of National Defense, the Tulcea County Police Inspectorate, and the Border Police, they identified a burned vegetation area and several drone debris about 2 km from the village of Parcheș," reported the Tulcea ISU.

At 112, at least ten calls were registered from the city of Tulcea, especially from people reporting loud noises and seeking information.
